Now that's boat parking!

This is maybe one sixth of the boat parking at bewl sailing club, Kent, England. No one has to bring more than a BA to go sailing.

This really removes many barriers to sailing.

Despite a weekend of wild forecasts and some decent breeze the ‘intro to keelers’ group enjoyed everything from fri eve to watching the race start before learning man over boards with a 100% success rate, which was nice !!!

 

So on wards and upwards

Start Keeler Sailing  Aug 1& 2

Heaps of manoeuvres, upwind down wind and back again as well as an understanding of all related areas.  Great if you havnt driven a yacht yourself that much.

 

Skills builder Aug 7,8 &9

Develop both cruising and race skills, come and try the things youve always wanted to.

Fri 7^th – intro to navigation and a meal at the club

Sat 8^th – level 2 cruising crew so practicing basic nav, coming alongside pontoons, anchoring etc, spinnakers?

Sat night on board, anchored and enjoying and learning about life on board, spaces limited.

Sun 9^th – intro to racing.  Starts, practice tacks and gypes, then doing the race to put it all into practice.

 

All courses $255 club members

We are running these courses to attract more members to the club, the idea is that they will get hooked and carry on racing keelers, maybe change into small boats or go buy their own...  so please pass on friends who have shown an interest in the past, $285 non members.

Windsurfing in July

Recent winds have been solid SE so great for crossing the harbour from Kulim Park, Tauranga.  The brave went through the entrance and played on the sand bar and were rewarded with excellent jumping.
